Simple Tips For A Positive Mindset Everyday

As the late Dr. Wayne W. Dyer wrote “Change your thoughts-Change your life”

This is one of the many positive mantras that I have held so close to my heart, to support a positive mindset everyday despite what is going on in my life. I look back and I realize how much I have grown from a place where it felt like situations and my emotions held me hostage and I had to hang in there until the situation changes, and to a place where unless am finding a solution to a problem.

I do not entertain thoughts or situations that don’t make me feel good. There are days of course that I struggle but I made a decision and I make decisions every day that my happiness doesn’t have to be determined by my situations.

So, have come up with these simple yet amazing mantras that are my daily guide to a positive mindset every day.

  • Where focus goes energy flows.

Whatever you feel affects how your mindset is and how you deal with people and situations around you. Emotions are like living things and when you keep feeding them by focusing on them endlessly, they grow and that affects your mindset and how your day goes.

Sometimes situations come up every day that make me upset or feel some sort of way I don’t like. Every time this has happened I give the emotions a moment to bubble up, then cool off and if this particular situation does not require a solution I’d quickly think of ways that change how I feel.

So I go for a walk, listen to a song I love, watch a movie/comedy and this slowly fills me up with good vibes which at the end of the day make my day better.

  • “You are the average of the five people you spend most time with, so choose wisely” Jim Rohn.

This is something that I have had to learn the hard way and sometimes I still struggle with. Habits/behaviors, feelings/energy are contagious. When you spend time with people who are always complaining, negative and moody, this tends to rub off on you eventually, so you end up either upset or in a bad mood.

However, when you spend time with people who are positive, happy, those who make the best of every situation it makes such a huge difference in your day and how you relate to others.

  • Take time to breathe

“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it even for a few minutes…including you” This may seem impossible for some people, however like someone wise saying “we don’t find time we make time”. Even as little as ten minutes a day, to just sit down doing nothing by yourself, maybe take a power nap, yoga, meditation… the list is endless.

This is very helpful especially when you feel overwhelmed and it’s that recharge that everyone needs to have a productive, fulfilling and happy day.

  • Gratitude.

A grateful heart is a magnet for miracles. Those who find even the simplest things to be grateful for are happier, than those who wait for happiness to be grateful. Happiness does not just happen, we create it and it’s sad sometimes when you hear people complaining that they will never be happy unless the situation changes.

But if only they shift their focus on other things that maybe going ok for them, even the things that maybe considered simple and basics, like food, health, shelter, food, water, peace: then they realize it’s not so bad.

Life is what you make it, someone wise said.
So, let’s go out and be inspired to live our best lives every day.

  1. Good blog. For that 2nd point, I agree with that, but something I have learned is that usually you don’t really know a person because you “can’t see the forest for the trees” so to speak. I was away from home for 2 years and when I came back, I noticed people in a different light.

  2. Agnes,I love this blog. Its all begins with Mindset! I had to learn the hard way that change starts with having the correct mindset when it comes to simple living.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece.

    • Thanks Mary…sometimes the path to get to where we are meant to be, can be long but the challenges along the way make us stronger and better in a way.
